1997 malibu oil leak bad?

im driving my car on the freeway fine all day oils fine 1000 miles away from an oil change. so i accelerate to about 90 cause this car was being a jack *** and i over took them and got off and my car was smoking from the so i got to a location and checked an it was oil on the front of the engine it cover

the front hose and front spark plugs as if it was splattered. so i drove home no oil light at that time so i sit it in my drive way it was night i looked and the bottom and my oil pan looked wet and i had to get my step dad from up the street just a mile and a half away from home oil change light illuminate stating there's no oil in the engine so i pull in to the gas station to get him and grab a Quart of oil i put it in and drove home light off fine i look at the car for a minute it was leaking oil very slow this morning dry again oil spot the car has set since october i started it once a week though but whats wrong with it what could cause my car to loose oil like this near Front bank of the engine
