Nexen restores full output at Buzzard oil field

* Output had been 50,000 bpd since Feb. 16
CALGARY, Alberta, Feb 24 (Reuters) - Nexen Inc (NXY.TO) said on Wednesday it has restored full production at its Buzzard oil field, Britain's largest, to between 200,000 and 220,000 barrels per day after maintenance issues cut output for more than a week.
Nexen said Buzzard had been producing just 50,000 barrels a day since Feb. 16, when it found a problem in the separator unit on the North Sea platform.
The company said it plans further work on the unit when it shuts down the offshore field in the second quarter for one or two weeks to install facilities on a new platform.
Buzzard is in the central North Sea about 100 km (63 miles) northeast of Aberdeen, Scotland.
Nexen shares rose 9 Canadian cents to C$23.30 at midday on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
