Crude oil futures got a boost Friday from stronger U.S. macroeconomic data, helping to shrug off some of Thursday's losses. 
 Light, sweet crude for April delivery recently traded 71 cents, or 0.9%, higher at $78.88 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude on the ICE futures exchange traded 55 cents, or 0.7%, higher at $76.84 a barrel.
